Vienna Tram (Straßenbahn) also known as Bim or Tramway was founded in 1865. Since then, it has played an important role in the transportation of the city.

In some parts of Vienna due to traffic restrictions, parts of the tram are underground (tunnel).

There are different ways to buy tram tickets:

- Ticket machines (Ticketautomat) at train stations or inside some trams.
Usually, in Austria, there is no ticket control to enter the tram either by the tram drivers or electronically. But during the month, the related attendants randomly check the tickets.
