If you have been invited for a job interview as a foreigner in Austria, the interviewers will probably are ready to interview in English. But an interview in German will greatly increase your chances to land the job. Apart from language skills, following the interview techniques and preparing for it will increase your chances of success.

Tips for pre-interview:
1- Research the company in advance
2- Prepare yourself for common interview questions and concerns.
3- Make a list of intelligent questions which come to your mind about the company, profession tasks and so on, to ask at the right time during the interview. Take care that their answer are not mentioned in the job advertisement or their website
4- Simulate the interview as an exercise in advance. Please note that during the practice you must speak aloud and repeat your answers several times!
5- Provide a hint list for yourself to control the subjects during the interview. It will be very helpful to don't forget the necessary points.
6- Provide a hard copy of your resume, cover letter or other documents which you may need them during the interview.
Tips for interview time:
1- Wear suitable dress, have appropriate hairstyle and make up etc. according to the type of job to make the best impression and avoid anything that distracts the interviewer.
2- Think positive and try to talk about positive points!
3- Do not hide your interest and excitement to get the job!
4- Try to have the interview process in such a way that you have well stated all your reasons for being qualified for the job.
5- Check the hint list which you provided it before.
6- At the end of the interview, thank the interviewers for the opportunity.
