Snow blower which actually should be named snow thrower is a machine for snow removal. Technically snow is thrown by auger or impeller and no blowing action takes place.
Note1: Auger is the paddle in the front of snow blower.
There are two types of engine:
- Electric power (line power / battery)
- Fuel power (gasoline (petrol or benzine) / diesel)
Snow blowers available in three different classes:
- Single stage: auger is on the ground and pulls snow into the machine and throw it from the discharge chute out. (not suitable for unpaved surfaces)
- Two stage: auger is not on the ground and pull snow in the machine and gives it to a high speed impeller to be thrown out from the discharge chute. (suitable for deeper snow)
- Three stage: similar to two stage but with accelerator.
