066: How to select heat shrink sleeves

Heat shrink sleeves also called heat shrink tube are a plastic tube used for below application:

1. Insulate busbars
2. Insulate cables and wires (contact or solder points)
3. Bundle multiple wires
4. Cable/wire connector as a mechanical protection
5. In fiber-optic system as a splice protector

General Specification:

Colour: different colours (black, red, blue, green, yellow, etc.)
Size: variety of sizes
Shrinking temperature: Depend on the product
Withstand temperature: Depend on the product
Shrink ratio: Approximately 50% of its original diameter - depend on the product

How to use?

It will cover the cable conductors or busbars and shrink with a hot air blower, lighter or soldering iron.
