304: Salary slip in Austria

The structure of the salary slip (pay slip) in Austria are based on labour, insurance and tax laws. Employers often issue the payslips in German. Below are some important words and phrases in the salary slips which in German called Lohnzettel , Lohn-Gehaltsabrechnung or Abrechnungsbeleg:

Section 1: Employee details

• Personnel number (Personalnummer) => Identification number in the company
• SV Nr.: Social Security Number (Sozialversicherungsnummer) => which mentioned on your ecard and also indicates the date of birth
• Contract type (Vertragstyp)
• Employed as (Beschäftigt als) => Job position
• Employment start date (Arbeitsbeginndatum: Eintrittsdatum & Ersteintrittdatum)
• Supervisor (Betreuer)

Section 2: Wage type (Lohnart)

• Salary (Gehalt)
• Basic salary (Grundgehalt, Grundvergütung)
• Income (Bezüge)
  • Gross (Brutto)
  • Net (Netto)
• Holiday pay (Feiertagsentgelt) => To work on holidays
• Holiday allowance (Urlaubszuschuss) => Equivalent to a full salary (For full-time employees in one year)
• Christmas remuneration (Weihnachtsvergütung) => Equivalent to a full salary (For full-time employees in one year)
• Homeoffice flat rate (Homeoffice Pauschale) => according to the Home office days, but up to a certain limit!
• Commuter flat rate (Pendlerpauschale) => Commuting expenses to the workplace (It must be higher than a specified minimum distance)
• Performance bonus (Leistungsprämie)
