Aerosol Extinguisher:
The performance of aerosol extinguishers differs from other known extinguishers such as halon, water, carbon dioxide, inert, chemical and foam. Other fire extinguishers targeted one side of fire triangle (oxygen, heat and fuel). But here the goal is to reduce chemical reactions in the process of fire formation (combustion).
Advantages:
- Maintenance free
- Longer life than foam and water extinguishers.
- Higher extinguishing power in the same volume as other gas extinguishers.
- Container is not under pressure
Disadvantages:
- They usually leaves residue (For example residue will make a big problem for electronic boards)
- They may contain harmful substances.
- Usually non-rechargeable
Application:
- Workplace
- House/Apartment (Kitchen, Motorhome, garden)
- study area
- Vehicle (Car, caravan, truck, motorcycle, boat, yacht)
- Camping (barbecue)
- Engines
- Transformer
Note:
- Fire extinguishers must be selected according to fire classes and standards.
