095: Pressure relief damper in area equipped with gas extinguishing system

Excessive pressure in a closed area can damage the equipment. Pressure relief damper (vent) used to operate at a specified pressure to prevent the over pressure in the area. When the pressure exceeds the allowable limit, its blades open and when pressure reduces back to acceptable pressure, they close again.

One of the uses of these dampers is in gas based fire extinguishing system (CO2, clean agents, halon). When the extinguishing gas released in the closed area and pressure exceeds a certain level, not only does not protect the equipment, but also damages them! It is necessary to mention this point that fire extinguishing area must be fully sealed due to the retention of extinguishing agent inside the environment and reaching the appropriate concentration.
