094: Fire dampers, Reduce The Spread Of Fire And Smoke

Fire damper (fire/smoke/radiation damper) are used to prevent the spread of fire and smoke through the ducts and channels. When temperature or smoke rises, damper blades (vanes) will be closed and shut the duct entry (cross sectional area).

Fire dampers are activated in two ways:

  1. Melting a thermal element: when temperature of the area exceeds a certain value.
  2. Receipt of electrical signal from fire alarm system
