070: Flood Light Technical Parameters

Flood light is special light with broad beam and high-intensity for higher visibility and more safety.

These lamps are used in two ways:

  1. Fixed / Permanent
  2. Portable / Temporary

Light types:

  1. Incandescent
    8-20 lumens/watt
  2. Halogen
    20-25 lumens/watt
  3. Fluorescent
    50-70 lumens/watt
  4. CFL (compact fluorescent light)
    60-80 lumens/watt
  5. Mercury vapor
    35-65 lumens/watt
  6. Metal halide
    75–100 lumens/watt
  7. HPSV (high pressure sodium vapour)
    100–150 lumens/watt
  8. LPSV (low pressure sodium vapour)
    150–200 lumens/watt
Note1: Mercury vapour, Metal halide and sodium vapours categorized as a HID (High-intensity discharge) family.
Note2: When HID lamps turned off, lamps need about 10 minutes to be able to turn on again because their ballast needs time to generate electric arc.
  9. LED
    30-200 lumens/watt

Note3: Low power consumption, long life span, instant start up

How to select floodlights?

First of all, check the following technical parameters:

  1. Type of Use (Fixed / Permanent, Portable / Temporary)
  2. Lamp type (Typically: Halogen / Metal halide / Mercury vapour / Sodium vapour / LED)
  3. Coverage (Lumens/watt)
  4. Climate (Indoor / Outoor, IP)
  5. Power source (Electrical (from outlet) / solar /  battery powered)

Application: Home (entrance, walkway, driveway, roof, courtyard, backyard, garage, garden, terrace, parking), warehouse, playing ground, park, parking lot, stage performance, stadium, tunnel, hotel, factory, square, street
