297: Austrian currency

The official currency of Austria in different periods was as follows:

• 1919-1925 => Krone (K)
• 1925-1938 => Schilling (S or öS, ATS)
• 1938-1945 => Reichsmark (RM)
• 1945-2002 => Schilling (S or öS, ATS)
  • Austria adopt the Euro on 1 January, 1999
  • After 3 years transitional period, Schilling ended on 28 February, 2002.
• 2002-now => Euro (€, EUR)

3- Reichsmark banknotes and coins:

• Subunits: 1/100 x Reichsmark (RM) = 1 Reichspfennig or penny (pf)
• Banknotes: 5 RM, 10 RM, 20 RM, 50 RM, 100 RM, 1000 RM
• Coins: 1 pf, 2 pf, 5 pf, 10 pf, 50 pf, 1 RM, 2 RM, 5 RM
